Hello traveller, and welcome to my second private contest: the Business Card Design Contest!

General Rules

1. NO STEALING ART
The cards must be created by Elftowners and posted here by the original artist. Which means, no matter how much you might like a particular image on somebody's house, you are not allowed to use it on your card and submit it as an entry. This includes random images from the net too. MAKE YOUR OWN DARN IMAGES, DON'T STEAL THEM AND TRY TO CLAIM THEM AS YOUR OWN! That makes me angry, very angry indeed.


2. QUALITY-ISSUES
Please put forth your best effort and the best quality, i.e.
- if your design contains a drawing, it should have clean lines
- if your design contains a picture, it should be high resolution and thus clearly visible (not pixelated)


3. EACH MEMBER MAY SUBMIT UNLIMITED ENTRIES


4. ALL IMAGES MUST BE UPLOADED TO ELFTOWN
Ask me ([Sunrose]) for wiki-privs if you don't have them already; members who follow the uploading art rules, and thus are not troublemakers, will be granted these privs. See advanced help for more information about privs.


5. SUBJECT MATTER
Since the winning entry will be considered for actual usage, it may not depict graphic violence, pornography or other disturbing actions. Only images that fit the business will be allowed.

All mediums, except animated GIF's, will be accepted.
Photomanipulations are also allowed, provided that you also took the photograph that you are manipulating.


6. IMAGE USAGE
By entering into this contest, you agree to the fact that your image might be used for a business card.
You of course remain the owner of your design.

Special Rules

This contest is about a business card, these are the requirements for the card:

SIZE-RATIO
3.5 inch by 2 inch (88 mm by 50 mm)
It can be any size as long as you use this ratio.
Bigger sizes are preferred, as to be able to see details clearly and make good prints possible.


CONTENT
The card should have a basic background, with a design on it.
The design may be anything, including a drawing/photograph.
Animated GIF's are of course not allowed, they can't be printed as such on a businesscard ;)


COLOUR
- It should not be solely black and white
- It should not contain more than three (3) colours, unless the card contains a drawing/photograph


IMAGE
The drawing/photograph should match the business, described below.


INFORMATION
- The card has to leave room for contact information (name and phonenumber). This information will not be provided here, it will only be added by me to the winning entry.
- The card has to leave room for business information (described below)


BUSINESS
Here comes the most important part! ;)
The business I would like a card for is energetic therapy. It includes Californian Flower Remedies and massage.

FOR WHOM
The business card is not for me, but for my mother. She gives this type of therapy and I would like to surprise her with a nice business card. Considering I am artistically declined, I'm asking my fellow Elftowners for help :)
Of course she has personal preferences that you can use:
- Her favourite colour is red, she also likes cyclamen and earthcolours (terra, brown etc)
- Her favourite flower is Lilly of the Valley
- She also likes butterflies, candlelight, books, beads, incense, patchouli oil, buddha, detectives, the seasons and colourful/cheery details.
- The card should give a wholesome feeling to it (this is hard to explain, so don't ask for an explanation :P). Usually the colour white is associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity.


FILE-TYPE
Your entry should be submitted to the entry-page as a webimage (.jpg or .gif or so).
You should however have a .psd file or other workformat of the card, so that contactinformation can be added to it later on :)

Any entry that does not follow all the above will be removed.

Deadline

January 31st 2008
OR a minimum of 15 entrants (may lead to extension of the deadline)

Prize

The winning entry will be selected by my mother, she will get to see the entries once the contest has been closed.
This does not mean she is obligated to use it, but that she feels your entry is the most to her liking ^_^

The prize will be:
- A donation to Elftown, which will grant you to use colour in your description.
- If you already have the above, the donation will grant you an unlimited description: the 10 image limit will be lifted.
- If you already have both of these features, I will send you an Elftownbutton like this:

But without a username.
If you object to this, because you don't like the button (Wwhoa?! :O!) or don't want to give your address, I could make a donation to Elftown for a member of your choosing :)
